Description :	There is a woman who is biologically related to me, but who was legally adopted by another family when she was a teenager. Her biological parents were never married. When she was an adult, she found her birth parents (her father is my relative). As far as I know her biological father's name is not on the birth certificate, and there has been no DNA test to prove she is his daughter (other than similar physical family features). As it is now, my relative's siblings and nieces/nephews are listed on documents as his next of kin to handle his affairs, and for inheritance, etc. He has no children (other than the one that was legally adopted by another family). My question is, in the state of Massachusetts, can she fight to be next of kin to handle his estate, inheritance, or other affairs, or contest the family's decisions or actions in his medical care or finances, etc? Does she have a LEGAL RIGHT to be involved, or would it just be 'nice' of us to LET her be involved? Out of curiosity, would it make a difference if her biological father's name is listed on the birth certificate?
